Serhat Aslan is a graduate of Ege University, School of Dentistry where he received his DDS degree. He attended Periodontology Program of Graduate Study offered by Institute of Health Sciences at Ege University and awarded a PhD degree at Periodontics. He maintains a private practice limited to periodontics, fixed prosthodontics and implants with focus on microsurgery, hard and soft tissue reconstruction and minimally invasive surgery.

Serhat Aslan is a Professor in the Department of Biomedical, Surgical and Dental Sciences, University of Milan, Italy and in the Department of Oral Health Sciences, Periodontology and Oral Microbiology, KU Leuven, Belgium. He was an Invited Professor in Post-graduate Program in Periodontology and Implantology, University of Porto, Portugal.

Currently, he is the Executive Board Member and General Secretary of Turkish Society of Periodontology. Also, he is a member and delegate of European Federation of Periodontology, member of Italian Society of Periodontology and Implantology, Turkish Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and honorary member of Croatian Academy of Aesthetic Dental Medicine. Prof. Aslan is intensely involved in mono/multi-center clinical research and development in periodontology, with special emphasis to plastic-periodontal surgery, guided bone/tissue regeneration and esthetic implant therapy.

Professor Susanne Scherrer received her D.D.S (1984), her doctorate (1986) and her Privat Docent (2003) from the University Clinics of Dental Medicine, University of Geneva, Switzerland.

She just retired as of September 30, 2025, as Full Professor in the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics-Biomaterials and Head of Biomaterials (2015-2025) as well as Chair (President) of the University Clinics of Dental Medicine (2022-2025). She is a Fellow of the Academy of Dental Materials and of the Academy of Prosthodontics. She has served as President of the Academy of Dental Materials (2002-2004) and President of the Dental Materials Group of the IADR (2001-2002). In 2014 she was awarded the IADR-Distinguished Scientist Wilmer Souder Award from the IADR-Dental Materials Group for her pioneer work on failure analysis using fractography. Her primary area of research and publishing involves dental ceramics, mechanical properties, clinical longitudinal trials and failure analysis using fractography. She worked as a general practitioner from 1984 until 2015 in extramural family private practices half of her time. Free of academic duties she will continue working on her research projects which include longitudinal clinical trials, occlusal wear and failure analysis of ceramics and composite reconstructions.

Dr. Ilia Roussou received her undergraduate degree in Dentistry (D.D.S) from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. She obtained her certificate in Prosthodontics from the graduate program of Temple University, Philadelphia, USA. Continuing her graduates studies, Dr. Roussou received her certificate in Orofacial Pain from University of Kentucky, in Lexington, USA.

In 2004, she obtained her PhD degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, Greece. Following her professional training Dr. Roussou established a private practice in Athens, limited to Prosthodontics and Orofacial Pain treatment.

She is an assistant professor at the department of prosthodontics, dental school, university of Athens, Greece.

Dr. Roussou is active member of many professional societies. Her professional affiliations include the European academy of Craniomandibular Disorders (EACD), International College of Dentistry (ICD), European Prosthodontics Society (EPA), European Osseointegration Society.

Dr. Galip Gurel graduated from the University of Istanbul, Dental School in 1981. He continued his education at the University of Kentucky, Department of Prosthodontics. Received his MSc degree from Yeditepe University in, Istanbul.

Dr. Gurel is the founder and the honorary president of EDAD (Turkish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry).

He was the President of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) for 2011 & 2012.

He received “The Smigel” award in October 2014 which is granted biennially by New York University College of Dentistry to honor the best esthetic dentists in the world for the social contribution they create, their support for the improvement of esthetic dentistry ,their vision and determination and their ability to present innovative ideas around dentistry globally and the education they provide to the dental health professionals about advanced esthetics, technology and the new techniques in general dentistry.

He is also a member of the American Society for Dental Aesthetics (ASDA) and American Academy of Restorative Dentistry (AARD) and the honorary diplomate of the American Board of Aesthetic Dentistry (ABAD) .

He is also the editor-in-chief of the Quintessence Magazine in Turkey and on the editorial board of the AACD journal, PPAD (Practical Procedure & Aesthetic Dentistry), EJED (European Journal of Esthetic Dentistry).

He has been lecturing on dental aesthetics all over the world and giving post graduate lectures on aesthetics dentistry.

He is a visiting professor at the New York University (USA) , Marseille Dental University (France) and Istanbul Yeditepe University (Turkey).

Dr. Eric Van Dooren attended the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium, where he received his degree in dentistry in 1982. After graduating he opened a private practice in Antwerp, Belgium, which is limited to periodontics, fixed prosthodontics, and implants.

David Norré followed after his graduation in dentistry (KU Leuven 2001) a MaNaMa in Restorative dentistry at the same university (under supervision of Prof. I. Naert 2001-2005).

He works at his offices in Modena and Sassuolo, strictly focusing on fixed prosthesis, periodontology and implantology disciplines. He’s an active member of IAO (Italian Academy of Osteointegration), IAED (Italian Academy of Esthetic Dentistry), DIRA (Digital Implant and Rehabilitation Academy), DDS (Digital Dental Academy) and (from 2006 to 2020) AIOP (Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry). He’s also a founding member of SIPRO (Italian Association of Prosthodontics and Oral Rehabilitation). He’s an author and co-author of many scientific publications on national and international journals, as well as a speaker at national and international congresses. Since 2011 he’s a relator for the website www.dentalxp.com, of which he is also an editorial board member.
